الملخص

Sentence tree-diagramming is one of the most famous ways to analyze a sentence. It depends on what is known as family relationships whereby a hierarchy of relationships is set up so that you may find a grandmother (S), daughter (NP, VP) and granddaughters (N, V, PP, etc.). This has dominated the linguistic scene up to this moment; it is found to be convincing since it corresponds to the human categorization of social relationships. There seems to be something unreasonable about it: why should the tree look upside down?
